On 17 June 2026, a delegation of the S.P. Timoshenko Institute of Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine visited the V.M. Shimanovsky Ukrainian Institute of Steel Construction.
The visit was led by the newly elected Director of the S.P. Timoshenko Institute of Mechanics of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine, Professor Volodymyr M. Nazarenko.
During the meeting, representatives of the Institute of Mechanics became acquainted with the staff of the Ukrainian Institute of Steel Construction, the history of its establishment and development, major facilities designed by the institute, and its work related to the reconstruction of destroyed and damaged buildings and structures.
Special attention was paid to plans for restoring the damaged New Safe Confinement of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
